Vaccinating your pet is one of the best ways to help him or her live a long and healthy life, and plays an important role in disease prevention for both individual pets and the larger community. We believe in disease prevention without undue over-vaccination. We base our recommendations on up-to-date immunology and disease prevention research, and tailor our recommendations to each individual pet.
We do utilize vaccine titers on occasion—most often for canine distemper virus and canine parvovirus, which can test your adult dog’s immune status to those viruses prior to vaccination. Your Iowa Veterinary Wellness Center veterinarian will work with you to develop a vaccination protocol that is the right fit for your pet and their lifestyle.
