She continued her education in Chinese Medicine through a number of courses and earned a certification in Chinese Veterinary Herbal Medicine through the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies in 2012. In 2016 , she passed the FAAVA exam given by the American Association of Veterinary acupuncturists, becoming a Fellow in that organization.

In 2007, Dr. Farr successfully completed a course in Veterinary Spinal Manipulation at the Healing Oasis. In 2016 she completed the chiropractic program at the Health Pioneers Institute.

In 2019, Dr. Farr retired from her practice and has since been working one afternoon a week at Iowa Veterinary Wellness Center. Dr. Farr has been married forever to Tom Farr. She has three adult children, four grandchildren and numerous fur babies. Her passion is her patients. Other passions include crossword puzzles, binge-watching Downton Abbey, and family. Not necessarily in that order.
